This is my first year at St Johns and I am thrilled to have been offered the job after seeing what a special school this is. Despite being a South West native, I have been living in Scotland since 2015, where I was delivering literature, history, music, drama, storytelling, art and wellbeing projects in primary schools across Glasgow. 2020 put an end to those plans and I now find myself closer to home, and full of energy and ideas to bring to year 4.
My commitment to Willow class is to provide the opportunities, support and positive challenges that will enable each child to thrive and succeed. I had a brilliant week meeting the class this July, and am excited to get to know them all better in September, along with their families and wider community. I’m also really looking forward to learning from such an experienced team here, and making use of the amazing outdoor grounds on offer.
Outside of school i’m an avid reader and I love to swim and cycle. I’m also a huge nature fan, and am currently enjoying being out of the city so I can learn more about growing food. ‘Mali’ actually means ‘gardener’ so it feels appropriate!
