Laura Dyer

This is my first year at Totnes St John’s, but fourth year teaching in KS2. Currently, I am the year 5 class teacher and the team leader for years 5 and 6 as well as leading English across the School. I feel very privileged to have been welcomed with open arms into the school and wider community and look forward to getting to know you all over the coming months.

I graduated university with a drama degree (despite having never seen a pantomime!) and with a love of reading, learning and cheerleading! I began working for an English Language company, which meant I travelled around the country teaching English to foreign students and then worked for the art, drama and music departments at a secondary school. Later, I was a HLTA at several primary schools and then decided to spend my late twenties travelling. When I returned home, I trained with Devon Primary SCITT to gain my PGCE.

In my spare time, I enjoy baking, horse riding and spending time with my family – you can’t beat tea and a slice of Victoria sponge!
